I've always been intrigued by the small, trading card sized story books. My kids had the 3 Billy Goats Gruff and 3 Bears in miniature, and those books went everywhere with us. As I drew this illustration, I was thinking of those toddler days. I wish I could find a magic mirror to relive those precious moments through again!
And Sir Dante' says this is one of his favorite storybooks! At 2.5"x3.5", it fits him perfectly!

Wow! Cool panels! I love the colors, they are so vibrant. My favorites are the sleeping servant and snow white sneaking in the get the mirror!
Great illo!
Thank you Cheryl Lynn!
I agree. Snow White certainly looks pleased with herself.I like how you made the panel with snow white larger than the other panels...it adds focus. You really packed a lot of details into a little space, having it so small makes it very accessible!:o)However,I think some of the great details get a little blurry because you were working so small, perhaps if you worked a little bigger and then scale the drawing down on the computer the details would be crisper. I enjoyed the passage you chose from the poem and in the text panel the corner accents go great with the theme. Bravo, job well done.

I love these panels!!! It's like a really, really cool graphic novel! This is super cool and fun. I would love to carry this around in my pocket for story time. Great Idea Dante mom's!!! Great work.

This is so cool. It's really creative, and imaginative. I loved how you sectioned off the illustration as well, so it seems like we're looking into a slice of the castle, awesome!!!
Thank you! You're right Walter - I was pressed for time, or it would have been better to make a larger piece and scale it down. I also thought about adding a few more rooms, or even having a door or two that opened. My kids and I always loved the books with the flaps that open.
